The NINESTARS 13 Gal Stainless Steel touchless trash can, designed and engineered by the world's first legal patent holder, is a sleek oval fingerprint-resistant design suitable for a variety of locations including the home, office, kitchen, bedroom, dorm room, or kid's room. Using the most advanced sensor technology found in all Ninestars trash cans, this durable trash can features a sensor that opens the lid automatically when a hand or debris is passed within ten inches or a 130° angle from the infrared sensor. The lid will stay open as long as debris or a hand remains within the sensor range, and will automatically close three seconds after the hand moves away.

The power of the trash can lasts up to 6 months in normal daily usage and includes a ring liner to keep the trash bag hidden for a clean appearance. It is important to note that the older version of this model used 4 D batteries, but the current model requires 3 C batteries (not included). The water-resistant infrared motion sensor prevents moisture or spills from damaging the unit, while the fingerprint-resistant stainless steel base helps to keep the can clean.
