Simply pass your hand or debris within ten inches or a 130° angle from the infrared sensor, and the lid will automatically open. It will remain open as long as there is debris or a hand within the sensor's range. After three seconds of your hand moving away, the lid will close automatically. The power can last up to 6 months in normal daily usage. The trash can also includes a ring liner to keep the trash bag hidden from view, maintaining a neat and clean appearance. Quality materials such as water-resistant infrared motion sensor and fingerprint-resistant stainless steel base have been used to ensure durability. The can is made of Type 430 Stainless Steel. It is hands-free and operated by motion sensor. The advanced delay sensing technology helps preserve battery life and prevents unnecessary openings caused by pets, children, or people passing by. The quiet closing function enhances the longevity of the product. The touch-free motion sensor lid closure seals in odors and eliminates cross-contamination of germs. For operation, 2 D batteries are required (not included), with alkaline batteries being highly recommended for optimal performance.
